It was my first time being in Extension Class. I would like to think of it as an opportunity to be thankful for. I give many thanks to Mrs Langitupu for giving me the opportunity. I have a few highlights for this year.<div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>My favourite highlight for this year would be the year 7&8 Extension Trip to KMPG. Some of KPMG's team took us around the KMPG building for a tour. We made christmas cards, decorations and gifts. We ate some nice food, my favourite food would've been the chocolate muffin :))</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHSSYFiX1cPBzBGtQRx0p25A-m7-kh2KwdoYlPQQGHuVY9sq9us559SOQljbmkHeuvQ5GPj8HRxl3a28WWdeIycwQCS4UWUhNLErrBMIUHT0tfLKb8FVgY-0WoKhwI-KozpRlRFhAYaeYg/s4608/IMG_4584.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3456" data-original-width="4608" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHSSYFiX1cPBzBGtQRx0p25A-m7-kh2KwdoYlPQQGHuVY9sq9us559SOQljbmkHeuvQ5GPj8HRxl3a28WWdeIycwQCS4UWUhNLErrBMIUHT0tfLKb8FVgY-0WoKhwI-KozpRlRFhAYaeYg/s320/IMG_4584.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div><br /></div>Paulinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04662097633219662086noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1040485102472508395.post-58712246386827381772020-12-04T12:53:00.003+13:002020-12-04T12:53:24.119+13:00Pt England's Art Exhibition<p style="text-align: center;">Today Pt England School had an art exhibition. All of the classes had to make art and put it up in their classes. </p><p style="text-align: center;">First team we visted was team four. Team 4 drew different types of polyneisan patterns. Each pattern had a little description about what that pattern sumbolises. I saw alot of Niuean, Tongan, Maori, Samoan and Cook Island patterns. My favourite ployneisan pattern's were drew by Ezekiel, I say this because of the detail he put in his drawings.</p><p style="text-align: center;">We then made our way to Team 1. Team one looked at differnt types of art, they looked at Pablo Picasso's shape art and Vincent Van Gogh's Sunflowers. Team 1 mainly looked at art with colour. They recreated different piece of artworks and used different artist's methods.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Team 2 looked at cubism potrait, Pablo Picasso, Indian elephants and rangoli pattern's. They created different pieces of art works by using Pablo Picasso's shape method. </p>Paulinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04662097633219662086noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1040485102472508395.post-51449223859009458822020-11-30T10:13:00.000+13:002020-11-30T10:13:36.693+13:00SLJ Week -1, Demo Task<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgm3alUgXiYnRP8jEK15zPAltdfA3Isb4IUiGqKn4jFYr92KMN0ysRlw-XS53BYlS821tgnuVGR3nCxbm7Pjld0BhATRCiPslaqDNlrW8J6B_EZQyvsfx5ck_5nKjbChrUw_h94mjzKXXuv/s979/colored_image+%25281%2529.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="658" data-original-width="979" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgm3alUgXiYnRP8jEK15zPAltdfA3Isb4IUiGqKn4jFYr92KMN0ysRlw-XS53BYlS821tgnuVGR3nCxbm7Pjld0BhATRCiPslaqDNlrW8J6B_EZQyvsfx5ck_5nKjbChrUw_h94mjzKXXuv/s320/colored_image+%25281%2529.png" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"> For todays task was I had to color in using Art Coloring Book to recreate google images.</div><p></p>Paulinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04662097633219662086noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1040485102472508395.post-42745097758947560892020-11-24T09:27:00.005+13:002020-11-24T09:31:21.037+13:00Poetry Recap<p><iframe allowfullscreen="true" frameborder="0" height="299" mozallowfullscreen="true" src="https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/e/2PACX-1vQTSlO_TUyKHm0eOc9dfnR58tjVRzlJLnMNAzU-z8-VenYTECbFnj88sSpQ9Z3wlhpvq0heg1A5cEKt/embed?start=false&loop=false&delayms=30000" webkitallowfullscreen="true" width="480"></iframe></p><p>WALT: identify and emulate the rhyme scheme in a poem</p>Paulinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04662097633219662086noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1040485102472508395.post-63099082972693175422020-11-23T10:50:00.004+13:002020-11-23T10:50:53.546+13:00Solubility<p> <iframe allowfullscreen="true" frameborder="0" height="299" mozallowfullscreen="true" src="https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/e/2PACX-1vQ8pHtG7HY6Zo-6ULjeHTzBH9eOcqe8fkqMe4AUJvaj0oeSfvjnTEru-Mn_WUu5FGL6Ao2QrUt5-69O/embed?start=false&loop=false&delayms=30000" webkitallowfullscreen="true" width="480"></iframe></p><div>WALT: make accurate measurements using a variety of measuring equipment.</div><div><br /></div><div>Task Description: Today we learnt about solubility. O0r did you know cows are bad for the environment? Some people don't eat dairy at all because they know cows flatulence, fertilizer and cutting down trees are bad for the environment.</span></p><br /><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: "EB Garamond", serif; font-size: 15pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-weight: 700; text-decoration-line: underline; text-decoration-skip-ink: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Fertilizer:</span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: "EB Garamond", serif; font-size: 15pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">In order to grow grass, farmers use fertilizer. Fertilizer is a chemical that helps make grass grow faster. When it rains, the fertilizer flows into streams and rivers, causing algae to overgrow. The algae will then take in all the oxygen and trap in the heat causing everything to die in the river. Using fertilizer is one of the causes of water pollution.</span></p><br /><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: "EB Garamond", serif; font-size: 15pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-weight: 700; text-decoration-line: underline; text-decoration-skip-ink: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Flatulence</span><span style="font-family: "EB Garamond", serif; font-size: 15pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; text-decoration-line: underline; text-decoration-skip-ink: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">:</span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: "EB Garamond", serif; font-size: 15pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">When cows eat and drink, they are most likely to pee/poo, burp and fart. When cows pee/poo, burp and fart, it releases methane gas into the atmosphere. The methane gas then traps in the heat from the sun causing climate change. Cows flatulence contributes to climate change more than you think.</span></p><br /><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: "EB Garamond", serif; font-size: 15pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-weight: 700; text-decoration-line: underline; text-decoration-skip-ink: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Cutting Down Trees:</span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: "EB Garamond", serif; font-size: 15pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Dairy farmers have to cut down trees in order to produce milk from the cows. When dairy farmers have forested land, they cut down the trees to have more space for cows and grow more grass. Growing grass faster needs fertilizer, and more grass leads to more flatulence. </span><span style="background-color: white; font-family: "EB Garamond", serif; font-size: 15pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">3.5 to 7 billion trees are cut down every year for cattle.</span></p><br /><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="background-color: white; font-family: "EB Garamond", serif; font-size: 15pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-weight: 700; text-decoration-line: underline; text-decoration-skip-ink: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Conclusion</span><span style="background-color: white; font-family: "EB Garamond", serif; font-size: 15pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">: </span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="background-color: white; font-family: "EB Garamond", serif; font-size: 15pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">In conclusion, cows are bad for the environment due to using fertilizer, their flatulence and cutting down trees.
