What Is The Perimeter?

WALT: Find the area and perimeter of shapes

  1. Malo Pauline, thank you for sharing your DLO on perimeter and for clarifying how you calculate distances around shapes. At first I was a little confused when you said you had to "add the length of the shapes". I thought, what about the width? Or do you mean lengths (plural)? Maybe you could make this more clear. I did appreciate you including photos of real examples where you have calculated the perimeter of a table cloth and desk placemats - it cleared things up. I look forward to learning more mathematics from your blog, like the difference between perimeter and area, and why you need the different calculations. Thanks again :)
